Focusing on more than producing, Ms. Carner has also enthusiastically advanced her acting career and was the lead in the feature film Night at Sophie's (Jury Award Winner-Big Bear Lake International Film Festival 2005, Best Screenplay-Breckenridge International Film Festival 2006). Recently she added the role of Amber in the horror movie Evil’s City to her extensive list of features, short films, commercials, and stage productions.
Before partnering with Matt Leonard to start K and M Films, Ms. Carner was the Director of Development for The Ilya Salkind Company, Inc. where she wrote and pitched the presentation which raised the first funding for the company. Throughout her tenure she continued to secure investors for the company, but mainly focused her talents on development, overseeing multiple film projects from infancy to production.
In 2006, his short film, It's On! (produced by K and M Films), was very well received at its premiere screening at the Super Shorts Film Festival in London and at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival. He has recently directed one-act comedies for the stage at the Acme Comedy Theatre in Los Angeles and was also the Assistant Producer/Director for the Burning Man Official Video Documentation Project 2000, 2001 and 2002.
After a very successful career as a senior-level computer programmer and project leader, Matt attended Colorado Film School from 1999 through 2001. Not long after, he wrote, produced and directed an award winning commercial for Red Rocks Community College in Denver, Colorado before moving to Los Angeles to focus on filmmaking.
